About 4 years ago my husband was given the book “Apples, Oats & Almonds” by Ben Goode. And we decided that we were ready for a healthy change and committed to giving his 75% strategy a try.
It is a simple food strategy about choosing healthier foods and eating smarter. We decided to give it a go. I have never seen progress so fast. In just 4 weeks I dropped a pants size, comfortably, and I felt great!
At first, I thought that this book seemed so crazy and simple there is no way it will work, but I made the commitment to give it an honest try, and I’m so happy I did.
Then, life happened, and along came baby #4. I didn’t care for myself or my body as well as I should have and my weight built back up again. I decided to recommit myself this year to rediscovering the better me. I’ve struggled to get back into the habit as well as I did previously, but I am making progress.
For today, my baby step #1 is to just make the commitment to myself that I am going to #eathealthier and do what it takes to feel good about myself. I have to often remind myself that I need to take care of me to be able to take care of my family.
